Ecuador Volunteer Reviews
Volunteer in Ecuador has the time of her life
STUDENT WHO VOLUNTEERED IN ECUADOR DESCRIBES IT AS’ ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING EXPERIENCES OF MY LIFE’.
A student who volunteered at a Day Centre and an Orphanage in Ecuador described his time there as ‘one of the most amazing experiences of my life’.
Tashan Fernando went to Ecuador for 4 weeks in June 2009. He spent a week learning to speak Spanish, and the 3 weeks volunteering at a Day centre, and an Orphanage. He said that he really enjoyed his time in Ecuador, and that his time spent volunteering was ‘one of the most amazing experiences of my life’.
Tashan made many new friends from many different countries, and found the local people to be ‘very friendly’. He felt that choosing to learn Spanish had been very useful, and that it helped to have an empathetic and understanding nature.
He said that he went to the Original volunteers website, decided to take a chance, and that it had worked out well for him.
He said that he had recommended the experience to other people, would love to go back to Ecuador, and that there are projects in other countries that he would like to take part in as well.
Tashan said that he felt that he had gained confidence from taking part in volunteering, and that it felt very rewarding to be able to make a positive difference to a child’s life.
We look forward to being able to arrange for Tashan to volunteer with us again some time in the future, and wish him well with his studies.
