Joining Original Volunteers

The registration fee to join Original Volunteers is £125. Once registered you can access all the available placements on the web site without paying a further deposit to Original Volunteers. The year starts when you arrive at your first project not when you register and for most projects there is no further payment before arrival for your accommodation, pick-up or transfers. This helps keep the volunteering scheme flexible if your plans change and you decide to change project.

When do I receive confirmation?

Confirmation of your reservation is made by email within 24 hours (the next working day) . Then you can start organising your trip and buying flights.

What are the chances of not getting the country I want?

98.7% of volunteers since 2007 were offered the destination of their choice.

What happens if just as I register the project fills up?

If any of our volunteer projects are full or unavailable on your chosen month of arrival we will contact you straightaway to discuss alternative dates or similar alternatives you may be interested in.

When do I receive confirmation?

For registrations received during UK office hours confirmation is sent straightaway by email. If applying out of hours Monday to Friday, confirmation will be emailed the following morning. For applications received between Friday evening and Sunday evening confirmation is sent on Monday. Then you can start organising your trip and buying flights.

What if I need to cancel my registration?

There are no cancellation charges. Original Volunteers offers all volunteers their money back no questions asked if you let us know by email within 7 days of registering.

What if my plans change and I can't go?

We know things can sometimes get in the way of your trip. We can hold on to an unused registration for up to 24 months from the date of registering.
