Volunteer in India

Volunteering in India

Choose to do Volunteer work in India and experience life in a remote mountain valley in the Himalayan foothills and gain a unique insight into rural Indian life far away from the tourist track.

Living as a member of an Indian family as a volunteer you will share work, meals, take part in festivals and maybe have a go at speaking some Hindi whilst taking part in other volunteer activities. Voluntary work in India can be as varied as you want it to be from administrative work, construction (local funds permitting) or helping with planting and harvesting.

Voluntary Projects in India could be educational from teaching English at the little school or organising a fun sports day or running your own art workshop (bring any art/craft materials from home!). This is India, so no need for volunteer schedules - just take a look at what is going on each day and invite yourself into a new experience or create your own.

Our volunteer Projects in India are as much about a true cultural exchange, with the emphasis on the visitor learning as much about Indian way of life rather than the other way round. Voluntary work in India helps you to make a difference by working sustain ably from the inside out according to local needs and interests rather than the outside in. If a more natural pace of life away from the hustle is what you need then volunteering in India is for you!.

India is amazingly rich in culture, all your senses will be struck from the moment you arrive in Delhi until the moment you leave for home.

There is usually one member of the family on site who speaks English but a Hindi phrasebook and dictionary will be very useful to get to know the family and locals.
