A Speech Therapy student who volunteered in Mombassa with her sisters described the experience as the ‘best thing that I have ever done’.

Emily Wilson volunteered in Mombasa, Kenya with her twin, and older sister at a Rescue centre for children in Mombassa, Kenya, adding that the experience was ‘absolutely brilliant’.

She said that she thoroughly enjoyed both the teaching and games and activities that she was involved in, and described the people of Kenya as ‘helpful, and friendly’.

She was full of praise for the work of Original Volunteers saying that she was impressed that they did not require her to have previous teaching experience, said that she had a ‘positive opinion’ of the company, and would ‘love to go abroad with them again’.

Indeed both Emily and her twin sister would love to return to Mombassa.

Emily added that she has recommended the experience to many other people.

Emily hopes that she left a good impression upon the people of Mombassa, and feels that as a result of her short stay has gained a sense of independence, and a different view of the way people live.

She added that she would ‘absolutely love to go back again’.
