You will need:
a flattened cereal box
60cm piece of string
a tin can or other round container to use as a template
scissors
glue
coloured pencils or crayons
Instructions:
Using the base of the tin can as a template draw two circles onto a flat area of the cereal box.
Cut out the pieces of cardboard.
Glue the two discs together with the plain sides showing.
Allow the glue to dry.
Next make two holes in the centre of the disc.
Draw a spiral pattern on both sides of the disc.
Try to make the pattern the same on both sides.
Thread the string through both holes and tie the ends together to form a loop.
Now hold both ends of the string with your fingers, keeping the disc in the centre.
Flip the disc around and around to tighten up the string.
When the string is tight, gently pull the string outwards to make the disc spin.
