60 minutes of fun activities

These activities encourage the children to practice their interpersonal skills through discussion and co-operation as well as allowing them to be imaginative and creative.

Design competition
This activity takes about 40 minutes.
Split the children into small groups of three or four.
Give each team a shoebox (or similar size box), sellotape, a pair of scissors, a marker pen and some A4 sheets of paper.
Each team has thirty minutes to design a games console out of the materials provided.
The best design gets a suitable prize.

Constructing a tower
This activity takes about 20 minutes.
Keep the children in the same groups as before.
Give each team a set of playing cards.
The teams have twenty minutes to design and build a tower of cards.
The team with the highest tower still standing at the end wins the game.
The winners receive a small prize each.
