Wave machine
A simple science experiment that children will enjoy creating.
You will need:
a glass jar with lid
water
blue dye
baby oil
small plastic toys
Instructions:
Fill the jar half full with water
Put a few drops of blue dye into the water.
Add some glitter.
Add the baby oil until the jar is three-quarters full.
Put in a small plastic toy.
Put on the lid and make sure it is securely fastened.
Shake the jar gently to create the waves.
The reason you can create this blue wave effect is that water and oil never mix. When the water moves, it pushes the oil around, making shapes like waves.
