You will need:
toilet roll
3 lollipop sticks
masking tape
pebbles, rice or dry pasta.
white paper
scissors,
coloured pencils/felt tips,
glue
templates to make the bird shape

Instructions:

Cover one end of the toilet roll with white paper and tape down firmly

Glue two lollipop sticks together to make a strong handle.

Place part of the handle inside the other end of the toilet roll and tape it on firmly.

Tape a third lollipop stick to the outside of the roll but attached to the other two sticks. This will make the handle even stronger.

Cover the handle with coloured tape to ensure a good join.

Turn the roll upside down and pour some stones, pasta or rice inside.

Now cover the open end with white paper to ensure the filling remains inside.

Colour the bird template pieces and cut them out.

Now glue the large rectangular piece on so it covers the tube.

Stick the smaller rectangle piece along the bottom of the roll.

Fold the beak template in half along the dotted line and glue to the centre of the bird’s head.

Stick the eyes onto the face and add the feathers to the top of the birds head.

Your bird rattle is now ready to use
