Do you want to give your time to something worthwhile in a beautiful country in South America? Then come and volunteer in Peru and assist at an orphanage in Cuzco! One day you might be helping with homework after school, another day you might be watching TV with the children or organising some activities for them.
The orphanage provides a bed and daily meals for the children, who need supervising at all times and one-to-one attention. If you volunteer in Peru, you can know you are making a difference in the lives of these precious little ones!
When you are not working, in Cuzco there are plenty of museums, shops, cafes and bars (including a growing number of Irish pubs!) for you to enjoy. Not to be missed before leaving are Machu Pichu, the Inca Trail, Nazca Lines, Chan Chan, The Cordillera Blanca and Lake Titicaca.
Peru has it all – from the jungle, to the mountains, to the coast, a vast country rich in history and full of interesting things to discover! Peru’s climate is very diverse, from subtropical on the coast to the Equatorial climate present in the eastern lowlands. The rainy season is from November to April and the average highest day time temperature in Cuzco is 21 degrees Celsius between October and March.
Volunteers live in comfortable shared self-contained apartments above the orphanage. Although there is only one English-speaking manager, orphanage staff is used to working alongside volunteers of all ages. In addition, by living on site, volunteers are never far away from assistance if they require it. No prior knowledge of Spanish is necessary and classes can be arranged for you while you are there if you are interested in learning this beautiful language.
What are you waiting for? Come and volunteer in Peru for the experience of a life-time!
