FREE Spanish courses
This course will be excellent preparation for any volunteer who will be working on a conservation project in a Spanish speaking country and has been especially prepared for complete beginners. It is completely FREE !
Volunteers should ideally set aside some time for independent study a week from the course book which focuses on everyday Spanish and you are encouraged to make use of the book’s accompanying interactive web site. Tuition takes the form of telephone lessons lasting approximately 30
minutes. These allow you to practice and gain confidence in the following two areas:
the everyday language you have studied in the course book (asking for directions, shopping etc)

Do I have to study the course?
No. It is an optional feature of our South and Central American placements.
Can I be a successful volunteer without being able to speak any Spanish?
Yes. For most of our placements your hosts, support staff and fellow volunteers will speak English.
Can I study it later?
When the course materials arrive you can decide whether to study now or later, no questions asked. If we do not hear from you regarding the course we will assume you intend to study independently either before or after your placement starts.
If I decide to study the course before leaving how long will it take?
Course length is flexible. Some volunteers prefer to take the course at a slower pace whilst others prefer to study the course more intensively closer to departure.
When can I start?
This course can be started at anytime once you have received your course materials which will arrive automatically following booking.
How much is it?
This course is provided FREE of charge to all volunteers booking a placement in Central or South America.
